Gaardhouse is signing up for the exciting “Bedrace For Bridging”. We’ll slide down Buck Hill in a race against hundreds of people in outrageous costumes on mattresses. Bridging supports families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness and poverty. Every night over 5,000 children in the Twin Cities sleep on the floor. Bridging, a Twin Cities-based nonprofit organization, is on a mission to eliminate statistics such as these by supporting over 5,000 families and individuals every year. By providing beds, furniture and household goods, Bridging makes a life-changing impact on those in need every day and gives hope and dignity to the thousands of people who come through our doors. To hit the hill with us go to www.subwaybedrace.org

The MN Film & TV Board is hosting their Annual Toys For Tots screening of the rare 1978 classic, “Star Wars Holiday Special”. (SWHS)
A brief history lesson for Wookiee Rookie’s. On November 17, 1978 the SWHS aired on CBS once…and never again. SWHS depicts the saga of Han Solo trying to get his Wookiee companion, Chewbacca back to his wife, father and son on home planet Kashyyyk to celebrate Life Day.
It’s the craziest holiday celebration Minneapolis has to offer and Gaardhouse will be there. Bring an unwrapped toy donation to the MN Film & TV Board’s office to receive a ticket to the screening time of your choice (dependent upon availability) and find out more details.
November 17th: 5pm, 7:30pm and 10pm. Performances can sell out so arrive early.
PS – Don’t bring your kids thinking they will enjoy this…

Gaardhouse recently completed a production for “The Haitian Initiative”. This video will air on the west coast and on the jumbotron during pre-game and half-time at an LA Galaxy soccer game. “The Haitian Initiative” donates and delivers supplies to Haiti which was devastated by a 7.0 earthquake in January that reportedly killed 200,000 people and left a million homeless. This program offers children in Haiti an opportunity to get off the streets and play a sport. Donations are provided to the children including soccer equipment, food, soap, clothing, coolers and other essential items. “The Haitian Initiative” will continue providing aid, equipment and soccer-based youth programming to Haiti during the rebuilding process.

Our latest freelancer has moved her desk into our studio.
We are excited to welcome Faith Eskola! Faith’s unique style is reflected in her incredible artistic design talents in motion graphics and print illustration. We’ve already introduced her to the neighborhood SIP Coffeebar for our early-morning-must-have-caffeine deadlines. When 12 hour work days are a little shorter, Faith loves writing bad poetry, spicy foods and using her passport. We raise our coffee cups in a toast to Faith. Welcome to the Brewery Building. Cheers!

IFPini cocktails were mixed with Media Arts when the bright lights of the film industry recently came together. Gaardhouse attended this benefit to support the IFP Minnesota Center for Media Arts. They assist and promote the work of artists who create screenplays, film, video, and photography in the Midwest. IFP programs facilitate interaction between the creative, technical and business aspects of filmmaking and photography. The night wrapped up late at the stylish Seven Ultralounge Rooftop where guests celebrated the end of a successful event.
