Twin Cities Film Fest Trailer Production

Posted August 4, 2011

Gaardhouse is working with The Pencil Project for the trailer of The Twin Cities Film Festival. (TCFF). TCFF is a non–profit arts organization centered around a major mainstream 5-day film festival. This year the exclusive venue is in St. Louis Park at the amazing ShowPlace ICON at the West End. With its state-of-the-art technology, this premiere location is a perfect fit for the festival. We’re excited to support the TCFF goal: To offer audiences’ access to the best films the global industry has to offer, to stimulate economic activity in the Twin Cities and to offer filmmakers a premiere venue at which to premiere their work.

Our trailer will air before every film during the festival. A few photos are posted on our facebook page. www.facebook.com/Gaardhouse

The IFPtinis were back and better than ever at the Incredibly Fun Party. The goal of IFP Media Arts is to lead the way in supporting the independent filmmaker by creating a healthy and viable filmmaking community in MN. Congratulations and thanks to the board, volunteers and sponsors for coming together for their most successful benefit party yet. It was a great social event for our film and video community.

GAARDHOUSE GIVES BACK

Posted March 27, 2011

Gaardhouse was invited again as guest speakers for the Department of Business and Economics at Bethel University.

We returned this spring to mentor the students taking the senior capstone course, Seminar in Entrepreneurship.

Gaardhouse educated the future college grads on the risks and rewards of entrepreneurship. The motivated students shared their career goals and were taught how to successfully launch their own businesses.

We discussed the endless opportunities and career options in the marketing industry.

Gaardhouse is signing up for the exciting “Bedrace For Bridging”. We’ll slide down Buck Hill in a race against hundreds of people in outrageous costumes on mattresses. Bridging supports families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness and poverty. Every night over 5,000 children in the Twin Cities sleep on the floor. Bridging, a Twin Cities-based nonprofit organization, is on a mission to eliminate statistics such as these by supporting over 5,000 families and individuals every year. By providing beds, furniture and household goods, Bridging makes a life-changing impact on those in need every day and gives hope and dignity to the thousands of people who come through our doors. The Sanneh Foundation Gala is planned for March 12th.

Gaardhouse proudly endorses and supports The Sanneh Foundation, established by World-Class Soccer Player, Tony Sanneh. The foundation supports community-based organizations nationwide and provides positive environments for urban youth. We’re excited to announce that Zechariah Thormodsgaard, President of Gaardhouse, was invited to join their board of directors. As a board member,  he will be combining his passion for soccer, humanitarian efforts and passion for video production to help further the foundation’s mission.

GET TO THE VARSITY THEATER!

On Christmas Eve, the studio of Eric Lovold was burglarized. Eric is the producer and frontman for the Minnesota band, The Alarmists. Thousands of dollars of recording equipment were stolen. Among the many items stolen were the recording masters for the upcoming albums of Twin Cities based band Kicks & Spurs and local singer/songwriter Brian DeRemer. Twin Cities musical friends are joining forces to cover the costs of re-recording.

The benefit will also feature White Light Riot, Chris Koza, a special DJ set by Solid Gold, and will be emceed by Barb Abney of 89.3 The Current.

Gaardhouse will be at the benefit to support these amazing artists on Jan.28th. We wouldn’t miss it. Join us at The Varsity. (www.varsitytheater.org)

HAPPY 32nd ANNIVERSARY!

The MN Film & TV Board is hosting their Annual Toys For Tots screening of the rare 1978 classic, “Star Wars Holiday Special”. (SWHS)

A brief history lesson for Wookiee Rookie’s. On November 17, 1978 the SWHS aired on CBS once…and never again. SWHS depicts the saga of Han Solo trying to get his Wookiee companion, Chewbacca back to his wife, father and son on home planet Kashyyyk to celebrate Life Day.

It’s the craziest holiday celebration Minneapolis has to offer and Gaardhouse will be there. Bring an unwrapped toy donation to the MN Film & TV Board’s office to receive a ticket to the screening time of your choice (dependent upon availability) and find out more details.

November 17th: 5pm, 7:30pm and 10pm. Performances can sell out so arrive early.

PS – Don’t bring your kids thinking they will enjoy this…
